Best Caribbean vacation spot over chirstmas?

I would like to go away for Christmas alone this year. What is the best island/ resort in the Caribbean to do so alone. Just want to get away from the family drama and relax. Safety is a concern I am a 24yr old female. I am willing to spend money on a nice place but nothing too over the top. An all inclusive would be nice. I appreciate your input!

  1. Just about anywhere in the Caribbean will be nice over Christmas. However, that is THE most expensive week [along with New Year's week] to book and you’ll probably pay double because rooms are usually booked on a double-occupancy basis. A travel agent should be able to help you find something.

I was 23 years old when I lived on the island of St. Kitts for 4 months. It was a beautiful island. I loved every minute of it. Just as being in the states, you have to use caution in some areas, but for the most part I felt quite safe there. You just have to use common sense! The people there are quite friendly and helpful and realize that tourism is what keeps the island alive. There is a fairly new Mariott hotel. Since this island is considering a developing country there is not much in the way of Americanized fast food places, there was a KFC and Dominos and Subway. So if you are willing to try the local food you will be ok. Just be open to try something new and use common sense and you should be fine. As a 23 year old female I took the public bus system into town a few times alone, and felt pretty safe. As far as things to do-well, hope you enjoy the beach, as there are many beautiful beaches to soak up the sun. In addition, you’ll have to try the local beer, Carib. And don’t forget to try a homemade chicken sandwich on Johnny cakes at the Cruise ship port made fresh by a local. The island of Nevis is about a 30 minute ferry ride, which is pretty neat as well. On both the island of St. Kitts and Nevis there are also opportunities to go horseback ridding if that’s your thing.
Have fun on your adventure, wherever it may be!

If you’re looking for an escape, I would recommend Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay. It’s a beautiful adults-only, all-inclusive resort that sits on a gorgeous private beach on the Montego Bay peninsula. The resort offers seven gourmet restaurants, a full-service spa and tons of palapas and cabanas on the beach – perfect for quiet relaxation! Enjoy your trip!
